Flavor Guide
Tasting notes for every flavor we make — sweet to dry, citrus to tropical.
These are our own notes on our own drinks, written by the people who make them. We don't score other brands here: we haven't run a controlled tasting against them, so we won't pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is exactly how our flavors differ from each other, and how they differ from traditional root-prepared kava — which is earthy, bitter and gritty. Ours is not; our nano-extraction removes the sediment and the bitterness, which is why these notes read like fruit and citrus rather than like root.

Flavor questions
Which Kava Life flavor is the least sweet?+
Lemon Lime is the driest seltzer — sharp lemon and lime, closest to plain sparkling water. Ginger Lime is the next driest and the most savory. Among gummies, Lemon Ginger is the most tart.
Which Kava Life flavor should I try first?+
Strawberry Kiwi and Pineapple Coconut are the most immediately approachable if you like fruit; Lemon Lime is the one to pick if you dislike sweet drinks. All Kava Life seltzers are zero sugar and zero alcohol.
Does Kava Life kava taste like traditional kava?+
No, and that is deliberate. Traditional kava prepared from ground root is earthy, bitter and gritty with sediment. Kava Life uses a nano-extraction process that removes the sediment and the bitterness, so the drink tastes of its fruit and citrus flavors rather than of root.
What is the difference between the shots and the seltzers in taste?+
The shots are the same flavor families concentrated into 2 oz, so they read as more intense; the seltzers are 12 oz, carbonated and lighter. The Pineapple Coconut shot also includes green-tea caffeine and L-Theanine, which the seltzers do not.
